About the role: Working as part of a small office-based sales team, the successful candidate will provide excellent customer service to potential and existing clients, with a clear focus on offering technical advice on locking solutions, maximising sales, and customer retention.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming enquiries through telephone calls and e-mails, responding in a timely, professional and courteous manner.
  • Manage various company e-mail inboxes, assigning to the relevant salesperson as appropriate
  • Provide competent technical advice, pricing and general customer service to existing and potential customers
  • Pro-actively follow-up all quotations and technical information provided with a view to moving any negotiations to a level of closure, or involving a sales Manager as appropriate
  • Contact a portfolio of existing customers via telephone on a cycle basis, to ensure customer satisfaction, learn of any potential requirements, and to increase market knowledge.
  • Offer, negotiate and arrange purchase contract forms for scheduled and unscheduled deliveries over a 12-month period
  • Analyse purchasing trends of existing customers.
  • Monitor, review and update special pricing offered to specific customers.
  • Manage a Business Under Negotiation (BUN) report showing current open negotiations
  • Compile and provide reports on customers and activities where necessary
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as required

Requirements:

  • Educated to minimum GCSE level (or equivalent) with Maths and English
  • Two years’ experience in a sales office of customer service role
  • Excellent attention to detail, a willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • A commitment to always providing a high level of customer service
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Able to work both proactively and efficiently as part of a team, and under own initiative
  • Courteous, friendly and flexible at all times, with a positive approach to work.
  • Working proficiency of a second European language (desirable but not essential)
  • Eligible to work in the UK
