An entrepreneurial company in France, IMC, has won the First Prize for Innovation in a competition run by ‘Camping Car Magazine’, with the help of leading security company Camlock Systems Ltd.

IMC’s winning product is an anodised aluminium sliding lock for caravan or motorhome doors. The vehicle’s occupants can use the internal handle to operate the door lock easily from inside without using the key. This is an excellent feature not found on the majority of supplementary locks sold.

High security is provided by an integral pushlock manufactured by Camlock Systems, which has a patented mechanism designed to prevent unauthorized duplicate keys being cut in key cutting outlets. The lock offers over 500,000 different key combinations and has an anti-drill centre. The internal parts are made from solid brass for reliability and durability, while the bright chrome plated finish is scratch resistant. Further information can be seen on www.camlock.com.

Both the IMC design and Camlock’s pushlock are patented.

The lock is designed to fit on panels of between 30mm and 35 mm thickness, as found on the majority of motorhomes and caravans, and can be fitted by anyone with basic DIY ability. IMC’s Camping-Car locks cost €99.50. Full details can be found on www.imc-creations.fr.

‘TRACKWAY’ manufactured by FAUN UK at its Anglesey factory is used by over 30 armed forces worldwide, sometimes in the harshest conditions imaginable. When the company won a large order recently from a Southern European defence ministry, it specified heavy duty hinges from Camlock Systems for TRACKWAY tool lockers.

FAUN is renowned for its refuse collection and road sweeping vehicles, however it also manufactures the TRACKWAY product for defence applications. FAUN UK has been manufacturing military products for over 60 years and is part of the Kirchhoff Group, which has vehicle manufacturing plants in 12 countries.

The company’s TRACKWAY portable roadway products are aluminium, rapidly deployable and used in defence applications for temporary airfields, helipads, tank tracks, rapid runway repairs, amphibious & beach landings, etc. Commercial uses for TRACKWAY include temporary access to areas without roads. Further information is available on www.fauntrackway.co.uk.

The TRACKWAY products are mounted onto a dispenser vehicle, which can deploy 32m of portable roadway in just six minutes. The tools used in these operations are stored in lockers, fitted with Camlock’s heavy duty hinges. Camlock also offers a very wide range of handles, locks and latches for commercial vehicles, which can be seen by clicking here.

Camlock’s catalogue with over 90 new locks and fittings for enclosures.

Camlock Systems has produced a 2009-2010 catalogue featuring over 260 pages of product photographs, technical drawings and other information on locking systems and fixtures for industrial enclosures. The new catalogue features over 90 new products.

Camlock’s offering in the area of stainless steel enclosure fittings has been expanded greatly with new swing handles, a compression lock, concealed hinges and cover stays. The additions also include heavy duty paddle handles, quarter turn cam locks, locking T and L handles, miniature cam locks and many other items. Dozens of new gasketing types have been introduced to suit specific requirements for profile, grip range and material.

The new catalogue features the fourteen ranges of high security swing handles and multi-point locks launched recently. Suites of the high security locks are available with a key combination that is exclusive to one customer and this combination can be registered to ensure that only authorised personnel can obtain duplicate keys.

Camlock claims the expanded range is second to none and specified the products from Mesan, which has been serving the industrial enclosure sector for over 30 years. OEMs will find the range available from Camlock Systems represents excellent value and the company gladly supplies a quotation with no obligation.

Superior security for enclosures, cabinets and panels

Three examples of the high security ranges developed by Mesan and Camlock

Three examples of the high security ranges developed by Mesan and Camlock.

Mesan, the manufacturer of enclosure and cabinet fixtures, has launched fourteen new ranges of high security swing handles and multi-point locks. At the heart of the products is a lock manufactured by Camlock Systems that features a patented mechanism designed to prevent unauthorized duplicate keys being cut in key cutting outlets.

Mesan believes that it is the first manufacturer to offer high security ranges of enclosure, cabinet and panel fittings. The move is in response to users becoming concerned that the relatively low security lock types sold by nearly all OEMs offer insufficient protection for many indoor and outdoor applications such as 19” rack server cabinets, telecommunications centre enclosures, high value electronics enclosures, highway control cabinets and high value tool cabinets.

The new ranges come in industry-standard body and mounting hole sizes. This makes it easy to upgrade existing applications and requires minimal changes to drawings and specifications. Low profile closures are available, together with both cylindrical and Euro profile locks. Weather resistance to IP65 standard is provided on all the ranges. There is a very wide choice of materials and finishes.

The new high security locks have excellent resistance to picking and an anti-drill centre for added security. The mechanism offers over 500,000 different key combinations, allowing unique combinations on batches of keyed alike locks. The all-brass lock construction and polished chrome finish provide superb durability.

Tony Dent, Sales Director of Camlock Systems Ltd, says: “These new products combine Mesan’s manufacturing excellence with Camlock’s security expertise and represent a breakthrough in the industry. What’s more, the much greater security comes at marginal additional cost for the OEM.”
